Project Title: Synthetic Compressor Oil for Petrochemical Plant Reliability
Client: A large petrochemical processing facility.
Description: The plant’s critical centrifugal air compressors were experiencing frequent shutdowns due to carbon and varnish buildup from conventional mineral oils breaking down under high temperatures. This unplanned downtime was extremely costly. NALUP implemented a full conversion to a premium polyalphaolefin (PAO)-based synthetic compressor oil with exceptional thermal and oxidative stability. The new fluid’s robust properties prevent varnish formation and sludge deposits.
Outcome: Elimination of unscheduled shutdowns due to varnish, extended oil life by over 600%, reduced energy consumption due to the fluid’s stable viscosity, and major savings on maintenance and downtime costs.
